Lady Gaga Collapses

Singer Lady Gaga cancelled an Indiana concert appearance last night (Jan. 14) after collapsing backstage due to exhaustion and dehydration. "An hour before the show I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing," she posted on Twitter. Paramedics diagnosed her with a regular heartbeat, she said. The performance, at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., has been rescheduled for Jan. 26.

Lady Gaga is in the midst of her national "Monster Ball" tour which began Nov. 27 in Montreal. The next scheduled date is tomorrow (Jan. 16) in Atlantic City, then two dates in Connecticut and four shows at New York's Radio City Music Hall next week are all the remains of the North American leg of the tour. A three month run of European dates begins Feb. 18 in the U.K.

"I am so devastated," she later posted on Twitter "I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort.

"I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me."

M.I.A's New Single "Down Like Ur Internet Connection"

“Down Like Your Internet Connection” is a song inspired from arguing with Verizon tech support to get her cable Internet and wireless up and running.

M.I.A. was trying to get her broadband working when she decided mid-crisis that she should ask the support people to help her out with her music. “Ten phone calls later, I have Internet that sticks and a song,” she said.

Rolling Stone reports that the song actually features Filipino Verizon tech support workers singing the hook.

The album — which was made in collaboration with producer Blaqstarr — will be released this summer. If “Down Like Your Internet Connection” is the first single, it will probably hit several weeks earlier. “I Fight the Ones That Fight Me” is another revealed song, but the album itself still doesn’t have a name.

Avatar Catching Up With Titanic

This weekend, Avatar once again shattered the previous record for the best 4th weekend at the box office, earning 48,500,000 dollars. On its fourth weekend in cinemas, Titanic made 20 million dollars less. If the trend continues, Avatar will not only surpass Titanic; it will set new records far above the popular historic love story.

2010 - The Year For Black The Ripper.

I'm a secret You Tube follower of Black The Ripper and I came across these two videos and fell in love with his style and lyrics. "The Edmonton Dream" is the latest album release from North London MC Black The Ripper and by looking at the track listing, the album is not going to be disappointing.

JLo Starts The Year With A Bang

The 41-year-old singer was performing at Times Square in New York to celebrate the start of 2010.

Over 750,000 fans watched her raunchy routine, the lucky few in the front row no doubt especially pleased to have claimed their prime spots early to witness her famous derriere in full flow.

Nice!

Put Your Face On Times Square.

Are you planning to stroll through the Times Square in New York City in the next couple of days? Even if you don’t, you can still put your photo up on Kodak’s big screen on the Square, and – better yet – you can control when it happens.

Kodak is running a promotional campaign in which anyone can have their picture appear on their large screen for 10 seconds. Detailed instructions are over here, but in a nutshell, you need to email a photo to kodak@aerva.com, and wait for it to get approved (which Kodak promises will be as fast as possible and within a 24-hour period).

Once your photo gets approved, you will receive a code; text it to the number provided, and your picture will appear at the next opportunity – i.e., the next free slot in programming. Your picture, with the accompanying caption, will show up for 10 seconds.

Of course, if this campaign picks up, together with a huge crowd that usually populates the Times Square on New Year’s Eve, it might be hard to put your picture up exactly at midnight. If you miss your timing, don’t worry, you can repeat the whole process up to 6 times over a 30-day period.
